Kenya Tree Farms is bringing to the market a very innovative investment opportunity.  We are planting this bamboo plantation and creating wealth for our investors over the next 35 to 40 years.  To this end, we have created an opportunity that the public, both in Kenya and in the diaspora can buy into, and it has the following features.

1. Each acre of bamboo will have a total of 244 planted seedlings.  The acreage will be professionally maintained over a period of four years.  This includes the purchase of the seedlings, transport from the nursery to the farm, planting of the seedlings and four years of land lease, labor, possible irrigation of the acreage and other overheads.  This acre of land “package” will have a one-time, up front investment cost of Kshs.350,000/=.                                                                                               

2. The investor will wait for four years for the bamboo plantation to grow to maturity.  After the fourth year, Kenya Tree Farms Ltd will begin the annual harvest and will sell the bamboo products to the local and export market.                                                                       

3. Out of the sale proceeds, Kenya Tree Farms Ltd will remit a total of Kshs.1 Million per acre to the investor.  This will be an annual return for the next 35 years.                                      

4. Payments to the investors will begin on the fifth year.  The harvests of the fourth year will be paid out to the investors on the fifth year.                                                                                   

5. Kenya Tree Farms Ltd will cover the costs of the subsequent growing years from the funds raised from the sale of the bamboo products that is over and above the annual return paid to the investors.                                                                                                               

6. Kenya Tree Farms Ltd has arranged with a local bank to finance the investors.  Anyone who can qualify for a Kshs.350,000/= loan and can manage a monthly repayment of Kshs.12,000/= for four years can get into this opportunity.                                                               

7. The investor shall sign a contract farming agreement with Kenya Tree Farms Ltd.              

8. This agreement shall be registered and the legal costs shall be borne by the investor.

 

   9.  This contract farming agreement will be assignable to heirs and successors and could             be traded.
